Is there any easy way to distinguish with old posts (old board copied over here) and new ones?
Also how do i fix my avatar it's tiny and all out of proportion.

The only way I've found is to go into each forum and click "Mark As Read" to clear them all from being new.
For your avatar, you can change the size in "Modify Profile." I changed it to 100x100 for you... not sure if it's still proportionate or not.
