I've just spent a week on holiday with my parents and my aging grandparents. My grandmother is remarkable for 80 but sadly my grandad takes longer to think things through than he did and his voice is weaker than it was, my grandmother's bad hearing doesn't help. Unfortunately she thinks he does daft things on purpose to annoy her but he is trying really so I spent the week being patient with them and helping my granddad when I could. I may not have got them back to how they used to be but I hope I at least brought a ray of sunshine into my granddad's life and I have learnt a lot of patience and compassion this week.
A true test of anyone's Jedi skills should be too look after relatives that are old, frail and annoyed at each other.

Tom,
That's wonderful! People do not always realize the wealth of information, wisdom, and inspiration that our elders have to offer. What you received was not a lesson, but a gift.
I thought of my beloved grandparents as I read your post. I miss them so much. I'm very happy for you that you received this gift.
