I've been thinking some about having a list of beliefs, similar to what other sites have had... Maxims, Tenets, Principles, etc. Except, that I wanted it to be a list that encouraged someone to push themselves, instead of restricting them like some of the others did. This morning, I came across a page titled, "Lessons from Star Trek" and really liked the list... at least as a base. So, I'm hoping that you all will give me some input on these.

Virtue - Be guided by an inner moral compass.
Purpose - Find your purpose in this life and work toward achieving it.
Competence - Developed yourself in a variety of areas, but have an area of expertise at which you’re particularly well-suited. Develop your strengths and work towards minimizing your weaknesses.
Self-Discipline - Own yourself. Have little to hide.
Maturity - Be 100% responsible for yourself and your actions.
Work Hard - Work hard, but don't push yourself to the breaking point.
Mutual Respect - Treat others with respect and look out for everyone.
Principle-Centeredness - Place the highest trust in your own individual principles. Respect the laws and customs of other societies as well as those of your own. Don't blindly follow others.
Intelligence - Be bold, but not stupid. Have both intellectual and emotional intelligence.
Growth - Continually work to develop your skills, self-educate, and have many creative interests. Mentor each other.
Self-Awareness - Be aware of your own strengths and weaknesses, but be open-minded.
