Ok, this is for a class project, so please be so kind as to help me out. Answer the following questions as honestly as you can. 1. You see a man unconscious on the sidewalk of a busy inner city street. He appears to be unharmed and only sleeping. Everyone else is walking over him, or stepping around him. What do you do? 2. A small child is wandering around at a carnival that you are attending. She is looking around; scanning the crowd for a familiar face. Suddenly a man steps over to her, takes her by the hand and starts to walk away with her. What do you do? 3. A neighbor of yours is a dog breeder and keeps a large number of dogs at his home. One day, the man and his wife decide to have a bbq at their home and all neighbors are invited to attend. You do attend. While at the bbq, the man gets angry with his spouse and drags all puppies that she likes out in front of the group of people and starts breaking their necks and throwing them in the bbq pit. What do you do? 4. You are asleep. It is 3:00 am. You hear a scream outside your window. You jump up, look out, and see a woman getting attacked. She screams to you for help and you are able to make out "He stabbed me! Oh dear God! He stabbed me!" The attacker looks up at you and says, "You will be next." What do you do? 5. Someone is demonstrating their grievances against the American involvement in the war on terror. That person pulls out an American flag and begins to burn it. What do you do? 6. You see a teenager standing beside a car with a coathanger at your local grocery store. He ducks his head when you walk by. What do you do? 7. Your single neighbor told you that he would be out of town for two weeks. After three days, you notice his car is back in the driveway. You have not seen him there, but notice a "strange" woman there instead. What do you do? 8. You pull into a parking lot and park your car in a space. Next to you, a woman opens her door, and proceeds to empty the trash from her car onto the pavement. What do you do? 9. You see a scary looking "thug" on the side of the road, obviously working on his car that has broken down. He tries to flag you down for help. What do you do? 10. You see a woman at the store with three kids. The kids are acting horribly. She warns them several times to settle down, but they refuse and instead, start tearing the items off of the shelves of the store. She grabs a broom and begins to hit them. She hits them in the head, the stomach, butts, and anywhere else she can get to. What do you do?

1. You see a man unconscious on the sidewalk of a busy inner city street. He appears to be unharmed and only sleeping. Everyone else is walking over him, or stepping around him. What do you do?
Pull him over to a sheltered spot and if one is nearby take him to a homeless shelter or similar until he recovers.
2. A small child is wandering around at a carnival that you are attending. She is looking around; scanning the crowd for a familiar face. Suddenly a man steps over to her, takes her by the hand and starts to walk away with her. What do you do?
Watch at first, they may be a parent, if the child appears to become distressed go over and challenge the man as to whether he is a parent or not.
Yell STOP! And if that doesn;t work run at him and knock him down.
As I'm safely inside I'd phone for the police and ambulance. If he disappears. I'd go over and try to help her (taking a baseball bat or something just in case he comes back).
5. Someone is demonstrating their grievances against the American involvement in the war on terror. That person pulls out an American flag and begins to burn it. What do you do?
Nothing, it's just a flag. In fact they're wasting good money that they spent on said flag.
6. You see a teenager standing beside a car with a coathanger at your local grocery store. He ducks his head when you walk by. What do you do?
Go over and ask what he thinks he's doing, that should be enough to scare him off, if not phone the police.
7. Your single neighbor told you that he would be out of town for two weeks. After three days, you notice his car is back in the driveway. You have not seen him there, but notice a "strange" woman there instead. What do you do?
Go and inquire as to who she is casually. ("You look new has this house been sold?" etc.) Then base any further action on what she says.
8. You pull into a parking lot and park your car in a space. Next to you, a woman opens her door, and proceeds to empty the trash from her car onto the pavement. What do you do?
Berate her for fly-tipping (this is one of my pet peeves.
9. You see a scary looking "thug" on the side of the road, obviously working on his car that has broken down. He tries to flag you down for help. What do you do?
Try and help him, don't judge a book by it's cover. Even if he is a thug he's unlikely to dislike someone who helps out.
Grab the broom and stop her, beating children is wrong when it goes this far. (a small cuff to the neck is the most you should do)

1. You see a man unconscious on the sidewalk of a busy inner city street. He appears to be unharmed and only sleeping. Everyone else is walking over him, or stepping around him. What do you do?
I try to wake him and, if there's a place nearby to get food, I offer to buy him a meal and take him to a shelter if he wants to go. If I can't wake him, I call for an ambulance.
2. A small child is wandering around at a carnival that you are attending. She is looking around; scanning the crowd for a familiar face. Suddenly a man steps over to her, takes her by the hand and starts to walk away with her. What do you do?
I watch to see how she reacts, and make sure I pay close attention to what the man looks like and what he's wearing. Then I follow them for a while just in case.
I attempt to physically stop him while having someone call the police, reminding him that animal cruelty is a crime punishable by fines or a jail term.
I call the police immediately, then grab a weapon and go outside. A bat if it's handy; a pellet gun if it's handy.
5. Someone is demonstrating their grievances against the American involvement in the war on terror. That person pulls out an American flag and begins to burn it. What do you do?
I call them a slightly stronger name than jerk (I have "freedom of speech" rights, too) and walk away.
6. You see a teenager standing beside a car with a coathanger at your local grocery store. He ducks his head when you walk by. What do you do?
Depending on his size, I go up and ask him what he's doing? Or, if he looks too big for me to handle, I take note of the car and license number, go into the store and have the store manager call the police.
7. Your single neighbor told you that he would be out of town for two weeks. After three days, you notice his car is back in the driveway. You have not seen him there, but notice a "strange" woman there instead. What do you do?
I go over and talk to her. If her answers are satisfactory, I take careful note of what she looks like, in case I've been conned. If she has no good answers, I call the police.
8. You pull into a parking lot and park your car in a space. Next to you, a woman opens her door, and proceeds to empty the trash from her car onto the pavement. What do you do?
I comment that she's obviously unaware of litter laws, reminding her that the fines are severe, and would she like some assistance in cleaning up her mess. I also note the license number and make of the car, in case she blows me off.
9. You see a scary looking "thug" on the side of the road, obviously working on his car that has broken down. He tries to flag you down for help. What do you do?
Being an older female, I wouldn't get out of the car, but I would stop and offer to call someone for him if he needed assistance.
I grab the broom and try to calm the woman down. Then I offer to keep an eye on the kids while she finishes her shopping, or, if she has a list, I offer to finish her shopping for her while she keeps an eye on them.

1. You see a man unconscious on the sidewalk of a busy inner city street. He appears to be unharmed and only sleeping. Everyone else is walking over him, or stepping around him. What do you do?
Wake him up and suggest that he move out of the way before he gets hurt.
2. A small child is wandering around at a carnival that you are attending. She is looking around; scanning the crowd for a familiar face. Suddenly a man steps over to her, takes her by the hand and starts to walk away with her. What do you do?
This would depend on her reaction to it. If it's clear that she knows the person, then nothing. If she doesn't appear to know him, then I'd go question it without being overly obvious that my real question is, "Is this your daughter?"
Grab something, smack him in the head, have someone else take the puppies away. Call the police and have Animal Control come and remove the puppies. Unless of course, he's USDA registered, then I'd call the inspector and file a complaint, because he's legally protected from Animal Control.
Well, if I'm hearing a scream, then it means that someone's already tresspassing and is open game for the Boom Stick. If he's threatening me with a knife, then he'd better be doing it while wearing a bulletproof vest, because he's likely to take a shotgun blast to the chest. Then, I'd call 911.
5. Someone is demonstrating their grievances against the American involvement in the war on terror. That person pulls out an American flag and begins to burn it. What do you do?
Express my deepest concern for their ignorance. After all, the flag they're burning cost money. If they stole it, then they're a thief. If not, then they've just wasted perfectly good money, when they could have drawn a flag on posterboard and saved about $10.
6. You see a teenager standing beside a car with a coathanger at your local grocery store. He ducks his head when you walk by. What do you do?
Ask him if he needs help. If it's not his car, then during the course of talking to him, he's likely to spill the fact while explaining himself.
7. Your single neighbor told you that he would be out of town for two weeks. After three days, you notice his car is back in the driveway. You have not seen him there, but notice a "strange" woman there instead. What do you do?
Go introduce myself and explain that I'm looking for my neighbor.
8. You pull into a parking lot and park your car in a space. Next to you, a woman opens her door, and proceeds to empty the trash from her car onto the pavement. What do you do?
Grab the camera, take pictures that show her face and license plate, then send it to the Police Dept. After all, no need to get into an argument with an idiot.
9. You see a scary looking "thug" on the side of the road, obviously working on his car that has broken down. He tries to flag you down for help. What do you do?
I'd go with my gut feeling, but more than likely I'd stop and offer to call someone for him.
Grab the broom, hit her in the head, and call the Police. It's not discipline if you're using something besides a hand or belt, nor if you spank anywhere besides the rear.

Well, since you all were kind enough to help me out, I will include my answers here too.
Btw, everyone of these incidents did happen.
1. You see a man unconscious on the sidewalk of a busy inner city street. He appears to be unharmed and only sleeping. Everyone else is walking over him, or stepping around him. What do you do?
I would walk over to him, check his vitals, and if he was alive, I would try to wake him and get him on his feet. If it turned out that he was drunk, I would call a cab for him, or offer to call a friend or family member. If he were homeless, I would offer him a meal and a ride to a homeless shelter.
2. A small child is wandering around at a carnival that you are attending. She is looking around; scanning the crowd for a familiar face. Suddenly a man steps over to her, takes her by the hand and starts to walk away with her. What do you do?
I would follow them. I would also walk up and talk to the man and see how he reacted to me. If he was suspicious, I would call the police, and cause a ruckus that would alert everyone around me that this man was trying to take a child.
(btw, the man that did this actually broke these pit bulls necks in front of twenty-eight people and then threw them into a trash can)
OK, 911 would be called and then I would pick up the biggest thing that I could, knock him in the head, and hopefully someone would be there to pull me back.
Yell for one of my family members to call 911, grab the baseball bat or other weapon and run outside to help her.
5. Someone is demonstrating their grievances against the American involvement in the war on terror. That person pulls out an American flag and begins to burn it. What do you do?
Hm..... I would probably do more than just say something to the guy. I understand that it is a protected thing to do, but it is also the wrong thing to do. I would snatch the flag from the burner and then berate him. I would also inform him that if it wasn't for the flag and what it stands for, he wouldn't be able to do the stupid things that he does.
6. You see a teenager standing beside a car with a coathanger at your local grocery store. He ducks his head when you walk by. What do you do?
I'd say hello to them and ask if they needed assistance while pulling out the trusty cellphone and explaining how the police have ways to get into cars that have their keys locked in them.
7. Your single neighbor told you that he would be out of town for two weeks. After three days, you notice his car is back in the driveway. You have not seen him there, but notice a "strange" woman there instead. What do you do?
I'd go over and meet them. I'd ask about them and if they were suspicious, I'd call the police. I'd also get photos and a tag number too.
8. You pull into a parking lot and park your car in a space. Next to you, a woman opens her door, and proceeds to empty the trash from her car onto the pavement. What do you do?
I'd tell the lady that it was unacceptable to do this sort of thing and then proceed to pick up the trash, myself. (Yes, I have done this.)
9. You see a scary looking "thug" on the side of the road, obviously working on his car that has broken down. He tries to flag you down for help. What do you do?
If I was with the kids, I'd pull over, ask if they needed me to make a phone call for them. If I was with Hachelen, I'd leave it up to him to decide how to help the man, as he is a mechanic. I'd still offer some type of help. If I was by myself, I'd have the cellphone out, I'd explain that I had called the police to come by and help (even if I had not), and then see if I could just jump-start the car for him or something else.
I'd grab the broom from the woman, hit her on the front of her head with it and say something like, "Kids can be pretty rough, huh?" I'd also explain how I understood her frustration, and that maybe we could help each other shop.

This could be just me, but I've noticed some distinct gender differences in the replies.
