(Dream in italics:)
I am wading through relatively deep snow and searching for someone. I'm shouting someone's name but can't hear what I'm saying there are several people behind me (friends I think) calling me back, it's no use etc. but I don't look round and keep walking.
After some time I come across a mound in the snow, behind it lying sprawled in the snow is a woman wearing a long cloak/coat. I feel elation at finding her but realise she's not moving (she must have been there some time for the mound to build up on one side of her) when I touch her skin she's extremely cold and I feel anger, pain and sorrow. I put my coat around her and try to keep her warm and eventually my companions(?) find us. I'm still frantically looking for signs of life.
Just as I regained conciousness I heard a faint heartbeat. I also woke up crying. Does anyone have an idea about this? It could be a dream but usually I forget/don't have them and it had a 'feel' to it if you know what I mean.

First of all, Tom, what did the woman look like?
Secondly, what is going on in your life that your family and friends do not approve of?
I'll post more when I have reflected on this

My spidey-senses tell me that this is a dream of "becoming." This means that you are about to emerge on the path of adulthood, where only you are responsible for you, your actions, your successes, and your failures. The snow could symbolize the world. The people could symbolize those that you naturally leave behind as part of this growth process.
But, please, tell us more about the woman. Was she old, young, ugly, beautiful? What was her hair color? What color was her jacket?

The woman had brown (quite dark) hair, she was relatively young but definitely older than I am now (though it could be said that she had agelessness, does that make sense?). I'd have said she was beautiful though she was blue from cold.
She could have been a mixture of people I know but the dream is fading more now (or maybe I couldn't be sure of her face even in the dream).
I cannot think of anything I have done which my family and friends wouldn't approve of, I generally please most people most of the time. However it could be something I am going to do (maybe if the Jedi ever become an offline movement proper it could be that but I'm not sure).

The agelessness makes perfect sense. Do you know what the "Maiden" aspect is in magickal circles?
Look it up, read what it means. Sometimes, people look at the Maiden as pertaining to only women, but it applies to men too, especially when speaking of life changes and periods of life.
The Jedi thing is interesting. I almost said something about that, but thought it best if you came to that on your own.
Look up the Maiden.

Maiden - An appointment held by one of the women of the coven. She is virtually the assistant High Priestess. This term is also the descriptive term used to describe the first of the aspects of the Threefold Goddess Energies (Maiden, Mother, and Crone). It is traditionally associated with the Waxing Moon, and the period from Imbolc (Candlemas) to Beltane (May eve) where the energies are those of initiating, beginning, and creation.
Correct? or is there another meaning?

That part is right. Don't worry about the coven position, it doesn't apply here. The Maiden aspect is all about beginnings and going on to become what you will be when you get to the "Mother" position. Of course, in a man's case, it would be better to say, "Page, Knight, and King." However, there is much less information out there with regards to men and the aspects, so look deeper into the Maiden. It is not only about the new beginnings part, but about coming into being an adult. There is much more at play here, and I'm very proud of you that you have had this experience. However, I cannot write it all out on a public forum. Of course, if you would like to discuss it further, you know how to find me
