Many people hear the words “talisman” and “amulet” and only think of witchcraft. This is not only wrong, but also excludes a very effective tool from an individual’s work. A talisman is any object that brings specific energies to an individual. An amulet is an object that keeps certain energies away. These energies can range from health and healing to warfare and physical prowess. People have used these talismans and amulets throughout time. How does this relate to Jedi? Well, any Jedi can construct either a talisman or an amulet and use it for whatever extra aid that they require, since these objects are “programmed” to draw certain aspects of the Force to the wearer.
How do you construct a talisman or amulet?
These things can be made simply from clay, stone, or wax. Or, a person could take it further and craft a talisman or amulet out of wood, metal, or precious stone. Either way, the objects work just as well, and the choice of materials is just at the preference of the maker.
So, after a person decides that they would like to make a talisman or amulet and has chosen the material to make it out of, they must decide on the symbolism that they will place into the tool. Below is a list of some of the correspondences that some people use when constructing talismans and amulets.
These objects can be constructed over a period of time, but if working on these at night, make sure that the moon phase corresponds with the effect you want your object to have. For example, if you are making an amulet, you should work on this in the waning moon periods.
After the talisman or amulet is constructed, you should take it with you and meditate, perform ritual, or pray. While in that “trance” state, empower your talisman or amulet with the aspects that you wish for it to have. You will actually be able to feel the pull and flow of an aspect of the Force as you do this.
Please make sure that you say, “Harm to none.” at the conclusion of this act.
Depending on the materials used in construction, you can now wear, carry, or place on your person, this talisman or amulet.
