(( I do not know if this is where I should put this, but it seemed to fit. )) Two days ago, I found out something very interesting. Today, the 21 st day of September, is known as International Peace Day (or International Day of Peace). International Peace Day occurs annually. It is dedicated to peace; more specifically the absence of violence and war. This day was first celebrated on September 21 in 1981. At the United Nations Headquarters, the Peace Bell is rung each year. The Peace Bell was formed from smelting coins donated by children from every continent. What surprises me most about today: not one of my peers knew about today. My question to you is: did you know about it? What other days do you know of that observe a dedication to peace and bringing cultures together? Links: International Day of Peace on WikipediaPeace One Day Organisation

Actually, I didn't know about it. Never heard of it. Kinda sad that it's been around nearly 30 years. Although I admit, I don't pay much attention to anything the U.N. does, because too often it just ticks me off.
