Hi, y'all!
I see lots of familiar names here, and a few not-so-familiar. So I reckon I'll take a minute to elucidate a few things.
I'm Lithiniel (Lith, Lithy, Lithimus Maximus, etc.), and most of you here probably know me from the old Ashla Knights boards. Before that, I was an active participant at the Force Academy. I've been haunting Jedi/Force related boards for about 10 years now, most of that time as what was known as a Shadow Jedi. I'm not sure the term is applicable anymore, either to myself personally or in general, since the introduction of the Potentium concept in the SW EU.
Well, that, and I have begun to find the Jedi concept a little bit limiting. I still like SW, I'm just kind of burned out on the online Jedi scene, which is why I'm here. People seem to be gravitating away from the name "Jedi" anyway, which can only be a good thing in terms of spiritual growth and personal awareness.
I'm currently coming to you live from the completely wrong side of the Mason-Dixon line, although I was born in Oklahoma and raised from about the age of 5 in good ol' Texas. ;D
My interests cover a whole gamut of stuff, but above all, I like to read and learn new things, and I like to write. For the last year or so, I've been involved in the e-wrestling community. My alter-ego is Johnny Reb, "The Inveterate Confederate," who is currently the reigning WCF world champion. So that's where a lot of my focus is right now.
Um... yeah, I think that's about it....

Welcome!
Personally, I'm a supporter of the Potentium view of the Force, which is why the pic is at the top of the board... I snagged it from the Wikipedia page on Potentium. Like you, I had some problems with the Jedi concept, but not until I'd been involved in the online Jedi Community for a few years, before that it wasn't a problem. I still love the base concept, but have found that I can draw on so many other sources for inspiration and ideas, that I really no longer fit within the fictional ideals of the Jedi, and there weren't many real-world groups that I wanted to accept their definition of what a Jedi was... for those who were able to define it. So, rather than try to be a Jedi, Sith, etc. I decided that I was simply a Wizard of the Force, and here we are.
Where did you live in Texas? I'm about halfway between Dallas and Texarkana.

Well, most recently, I was in Richardson. Garland before that. And a little place between Greenville and Rockwall called Caddo Mills. Kinda been all over the metroplex and surrounding areas, and even spent a couple of weeks in Austin once.
Caddo Mills was the best, though. Living in the approximate middle of nowhere kinda turned me from a city girl to a country girl. Also, I think a lot of exposure to nature is a must for any spiritually minded person, Jedi or otherwise....

Cool. My sister just moved to McKinney Her husband works down in Allen. My parents go to Richardson on a regular basis. I'm not too fond of the more central areas of the metroplex, like Garland. I've never been to Caddo Mills, but I have been to Rockwall once... it wasn't too bad.
I grew up in the city, but wasn't ever really "city". During the summers I'd go to Illinois and stay with my grandparents, usually spending a week at a time with my various aunts and uncles. My favorite uncle to stay with had a small farm and he only lived a couple of miles from my grandparents. Right now, I live surrounded completely by trees and not a neighbor in sight.

Hi there. Never been to Ashla Knights or the Force Academy, though your name seems a bit familiar from other places. Unlike some other folks here, I'm an unrepentant Yankee ... I think I can safely welcome you to the "demilitarized zone" .. a.k.a., the twilight zone . Hope you enjoy your stay.
