Um. This lady doesn't have much of a sense of humor, does she? Actually, my guess is she's never listened to Rush. I say that because I do, every day, and I've never heard any of that come out of him. But, then, that's usual. A lot of the people who rag on him don't listen, or don't get it. As for Pat, well, he lost it long ago. Oh, and there are many blacks that didn't vote for Obama. Of course, to most liberals, if you're black and conservative, you're not really black so it doesn't count. Sort of like when Anderson Cooper said that all the Tea Party people are white. They're not. They're not even all conservative. But that doesn't suit them, apparently, so they make them all out to be what best suits their own agenda. It's sad, too, because so many people are sucked into their obvious lies. Just so sad.

Well, what is happening in Haiti right now is a tragedy, no doubt about it...but then, what has been happening in Haiti for a very long time has been a tragedy. All through the so-called "administrations" of Papa Doc and Baby Doc, nothing was actually administered, they just lined their pockets. As far as for Pat Robertson's statement...it may not be popular or politically correct, but it is accurate. But never mind what happened 205 years ago, let's talk about now... 90% of Haitians are active practitioners of Voodoo...sure, they give lip service to the Catholic Church, but in point of fact they worship demons. There are two places in the Western Hemisphere that are famous for the practice of Voodoo...one of them is Haiti....the other is New Orleans. Coincidence? I think not. God Almighty will not be mocked. Pay attention to what is happening in Haiti...it is a primer for the End of Days. Mark my words...there will be rampant cannibalism there within the next three weeks, and all well-meaning people who go there trying to help will be attacked and killed wholesale. It's terrible, yes...but, to some extent, it is their own fault. A 6.5 hit near Eureka California 3 days prior to the Haiti disaster, and it was barely noticed. Oh, but don't doubt that The Really Big One is still waiting in the wings for Californicatia. Just a matter of time. ~GaZoo (ok, you can throw your tomatoes now......)

Now, see, if the reason for New Orleans and Haiti are because people there are Voodoo, which you claim mocks God... why wouldn't God have wiped out anywhere in the Middle East first? You know, all of those Muslim nations with 5000 times the people mocking the Christian God? Or, how about Salt Lake City? The reason that the earthquakes in California are barely noticed is that they're a common occurrence, people are prepared for them and they happen on mainland. In Haiti, they're extremely rare, people aren't prepared for them and they happened on an island. Two completely different circumstances. The comparison of the two simply doesn't add up. It's kind of funny that someone can read the same holy book, worship the same god (albeit with a different name), but celebrate it by incorporating it into their native culture; and they're branded evil. Why, oh why, do people insist on believing that anything different from them is evil, rather than looking for the common good, they shun and blame others, rather than looking at themselves in-depth and finding out what it is that makes them so insecure in their beliefs that they feel the need to justify themselves as being right by attacking others, simply because they fear that the others may in fact be those who are right. If we were all meant to be the same, we'd be churned out of a factory as clones.

You'd better do a little more research on Voodoo...they do not worship God at all, the priests allow themselves to be possessed by Loa, which are demons. Their concept of "God" is that He is unapproachable by humans, and thus they can only appeal to the "minor deities"...the Loa. It is African in origin. God left Africa with Moses, and except for Ethiopia, never was worshipped there in Old Testament times. He is in Ethiopia because the Queen of Sheba came to Solomon and recognized that the God of Israel was the One True God. The Ark of the Covenant may very well be in Axum now, but I am not sure about that. The Ethiopians believe it is, though, and it is an important part of their (now Christian) religion. I am not the least bit insecure in my beliefs, my friend. I am an old school Old Testament scholar, and I see things as they are. I am not the least bit apologetic for believing that the Bible is the Word of God, and if God says something, that is the way it is. Period. I do not have the slightest suspicion that others such as Muslims or Mormons may be "right"....they are not. I am not "justifying myself," ( how ludicrous! I have no need or desire to justify myself to you or to any other human being, but only to be able to hold my head up when I stand before God on Judgment Day!) I am standing up for God, and for Christ...God's only plan for salvation. No man..not me, not you, no one, can stand before God Almighty on his own merits. I never say anything that I cannot back up with scripture. If you don't believe in the Bible, then I guess that doesn't mean anything to you. As for why God has not destroyed the Muslims or the Mormons, I do not presume to speculate as to why God Almighty does what He does when He does it...His motives and His timing are His own...but I can recognize His hand in things. Everything is happening just as the Old Testament prophets predicted. This liberal idea that "Oh, one religion is just as good as another, and God is OK with all of it" is nothing but wishful thinking. He will deal with the Muslims and the Mormons in His own good time. The reason why an earthquake which is nearly as powerful has so much less effect in California is not because they are used to it...it is because they are better prepared to deal with it. There is no infrastructure and no building codes in Haiti. They have no functioning government, their law enforcement is so corrupt it makes Mexican law enforcement look like angels by comparison. Most of the country is run by drug gangs. That is what I meant when I said that they are partly responsible for the trouble they are having now. And the statement that there are two areas known for practicing Voodoo, Haiti and New Orleans, and both of them have now been very nearly destroyed by the natural forces, is merely a statement of fact...no argument is possible about that. The "why"of it may be debated, but that it has happened is a FACT. There are things that God does not like, and He has been very, very clear about just exactly what they are.

It may come as quite a surprise, but I do actually know about Voodoo. It is only from your perspective that you don't acknowledge that Voodoo view Bondye (Good God) and the Christian God as being the same Creator. The Loa, which are intermediaries between Bondye and humanity are not deities in the sense of being lesser gods, but rather angelic beings and saints.
But, really, that's all moot in the point that people love to bash those who are different than them, simply because they have a desire to be correct in their beliefs. Let's face it, you desire to be correct, because if you're not, then you've placed your faith in a lie. The same is true of everyone else out there. The difference is that not everyone sees the need to condemn opposing views as being evil, but rather see it as being another possibility in an existence that we don't truly understand. No, the Bible cannot be presented to me as being 'proof' anymore than "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" or "Playboy" can be presented to me as being 'proof' in what created us. I've read the Bible, I see many valuable points in it, but I no longer accept it as being the complete and total truth of all.
As I said above, humans want to justify their beliefs to themselves, and the way that the vast majority of humans do that is by branding dissenting views as being evil, because if they were to open themselves up to the possibility of other views as being legitimate, then they'd have to either affirm their own views, accept the possibility that their beliefs aren't completely accurate, or possibly accept that they've been believing an outright lie. This is everyone, not just you.
I challenge you to prove, beyond a doubt, that Christianity is the absolute truth, without having to resort to the Bible or personal experience. Along with that, I challenge you and any other member of any other religion to prove, beyond a doubt, that reality isn't simply a dream of the delusional mind of a child... or that reality isn't simply happening in a minute amount of time in a log of crap that someone has just taken in their toilet... or that reality doesn't exist as a constant doughnut, constantly consuming and reinventing itself based solely on its own naturally occurring mechanisms without the outside interference of a creator being.
If earthquakes were a regular occurrence in Haiti, then don't you think that over time, as they became used to them occurring, that the people of Haiti would have taken the time to prepare for it? Just the same as the people in Wyoming aren't prepared for a hurricane to wipe them out, or the people of Arizona prepared for a meteor shower (despite the multitude of meteor craters in the state). All things that might happen, but don't often enough for people to get used to the fact that it's a reality of life in that area.
No disagreement there. However, that has nothing to do with the Devil, but rather with ignorance.
Why? That's easily decided by simple observation... lack of preparation and an natural event. Smaller areas are regularly decimated by natural events, yet people don't point out that they're "Christian Towns and what a shame it was that it happened to such evil people." Tornadoes regularly wipe out small towns. Does that mean those towns were evil? No, they were built in the path that tornado ended up taking. Lightning has struck two Baptist churches within 30 miles of my home, does that mean that Baptists are evil? No, lightning simply struck.
... And, yet, the Catholic Church has been one of the most powerful organizations on Earth for over a thousand years.

Yea, I understand the idea that everything we know may be happening in a mote of dust in a giant's eye...I don't believe that, but I understand the idea. I think the Catholic Church is evil, too, for what that's worth. Just look at the current Pope...put a hooded cloak on that guy, and he looks just like Palpatine...after his bout with Mace Windu. Look, I believe in the Bible, if you don't, then we're never going to be able to have a real discussion, because what we base our belief systems on is too different. I'm not judging Voodoo as evil because I'm scared I might be wrong...it's just evident to me that it is evil, by every definition of evil that I know of...the Loa aren't "angels" or "saints"...they are demons. There has never been an account of an angel possessing someone, but there are plenty of accounts of demonic possession. From my point of view, Ben, you've simply lost your faith, and Satan has convinced you of a lie. I'll pray for you, because I know you used to believe. You've dabbled with this Pagan stuff for too long, and it has messed up your thinking. For all functional intents and purposes, you are an Atheist now. Sorry...I'm not, and never will be. I don't preach these things because I "want to be right"...I preach them because I believe in right and wrong, and I believe some things are just wrong. I will never renounce Christ (which is exactly what you just did in the above statement) because that is what the Bible says that most so-called Christians will do as we approach the End Times. I know you think I'm wrong, but that sword cuts both ways, so I guess we will just not agree. I hope you manage to find your way back to Him. If "proof" were possible, then Faith would not be necessary. I have faith...I don't need proof. I have personally experienced God, and His power, and that is all the proof I will ever need.
Still your friend, though...at least speaking for myself. ~Jim

See... anything's possible, even if we don't believe it, we can at least understand how it could be possible.
Two things that we both agree on.
Why? Why can't two people with different belief systems have a real discussion? I've got friends of all religions and no religions, yet I manage to have real discussions with them all the time, without the need for it to venture into a petty, "You're wrong and evil." as I do with so many true believers, regardless of the religion.
Why must they be demons? Why can't they simply be beings that you don't understand? And, why must Voodoo be evil? Do you not understand that one of its primary goals is to heal others?
That's your point of view and you're welcome to it. However, it's insulting if your point of view includes me being evil, simply because you now believe that I serve Satan, a being which I do not acknowledge to exist.
I also used to believe in Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny and Peace on Earth. Some things simply no longer make rational sense, or are revealed as fairy tales.
hmm... "dabbled with this Pagan stuff for too long"... I was Pagan long before I was Christian. Interestingly enough, it was while I was a Christian that I learned just how filled with hatred and bigotry that most Christians are. Before that, as a Pagan, I wasn't taught to hate others for their religious beliefs. As a Christian, I was. Go figure, huh? And, yes, I see the same hatred and bigotry in most Christians, no matter what part of the country I'm in. So, a more correct statement is that Christianity messed up my thinking and I've chosen to take a stance against hating others for their religious beliefs.
Really? Am I "Against God"? Or, have I expressed a belief that there is "No God"? I don't recall remembering making a declaration of either of these things. I believe that more than likely there was a 'Creator of Reality', yet as I do not know this being and I do not believe that it has revealed itself to us as set forth by any established religion, I do not proclaim to know it or make any profound proclamations about it, which are presented without any evidence.
Actually, I wouldn't want you to stop believing in Christianity. If it works for you, as prescribed by the Bible, then by all means, believe it. The part that I disagree with is the proclamation that Christianity is the one and only true way for all, because a book says it to be so, and that they use that to attack others who don't believe as they do.
Actually, I haven't renounced Christ at all. Christ is not Christianity, no more than Christianity is Christ. I still accept Jesus, as that's who he is, as a great teacher of his time. I do not say that he can't have been God, the Son of God, or anything else; as I do not have proof one way or the other. I believe that he spoke from the heart about things he believed to be true. I believe that he tried to get people to believe that you shouldn't make people your enemy simply for their beliefs, nor of those who didn't believe in his claims. He accepted everyone, regardless of their belief.
Agreeable.
You know, it's funny that so many hope that same thing, yet when I hope that they'll find their way to the truth, they get so offended.
The statement, "If faith were possible, the proof would not be necessary." would seem to apply just as well. If I were to try and convince you that the sky is purple with polka dot clouds, you'd look at it with your own eyes and say that it's not true. And, you wouldn't believe it without proof, because you wouldn't have faith that what I said was true.
That's a good thing. Faith should form the basis for all belief, even when that faith is faith in proof or faith in the search for proof.
Of course. ;D

I don't hate anyone...I might feel sorry for them, and, if I have to destroy them as we move into the End Times, it will be with regret. Basically, I think that is how God feels about it, too. I do not...emphatically do not think you are evil, Ben. Misguided, maybe, duped, but not evil. Satan is real, a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour...I'm sure he is quite happy that he has managed to convince you that he does not exist. I often hear it said, by people who have no understanding of the true Word, that "Jesus accepted everybody, regardless of belief." What complete and utter nonsense!! He most emphatically DID NOT!!![/i]. That statement is indicative of the kind of limp-wristed, ineffectual so-called Christianity that we see so much of today...so scared of being politically incorrect that the Word is rendered impotent. Jesus Christ was a dangerous revolutionary. As "Christian bashing" becomes ever more popular, a real Christian is going to have to have courage. Of course, if your belief is such that "Oh, everything is fine with me" then you can just go with whichever way the wind blows, and won't know you're in trouble until "they" come to cut off your head. Wake up! Time grows ever shorter. ~Jim

Addendum: (sorry for the double post, but I forgot to add this-)
How do I know that the houngans are allowing themselves to be possessed by demons, and not by "beings that I don't understand," or angels, or saints?
Jesus said, "By the fruits of the tree, ye shall know the tree."
Obviously, if these "priests" had been channeling the spirits of angels, and following their advice for 200+ years, Haiti would be a garden, Paradise on Earth, with all of its citizens healthy, happy and prosperous. Conversely, channeling demons would result in poverty, death, disease and suffering.
Pretty self-evident, I think. Haiti, even before the quake, was a little slice of Hell on Earth, the obvious result of worshiping Satan. Seems pretty clear to me, but if you want to stick your head in the sand and deny the evidence that is right under your nose, then be my guest...I've fulfilled my obligation by telling you the Truth..what you do with it is up to you. You have free will, after all. I repeat...Wake up! Time is short.

Again, prove to me that Christianity is absolute truth... other than a doomsday cult offshoot of Judaism, which was lead by a charismatic leader who has so far failed in many of his claims. Otherwise, I'll simply be forced to accept the truth that Christianity in general teaches hatred towards those who are different, simply because it fears being wrong in its claims.
See, I did wake up and realized that the majority of religions on Earth are not simply to "preach the truth" but rather to "preach that we're right and they're wrong". Many religions seek the 'End Times' and are continually looking for ways to bring it about, even in our modern age, Muslims attack Christians and Jews; Jews and Christians attack Muslims; Jews mock Christians for their beliefs; Christians attack others who aren't Christian.
I regret that I won't live to see the day when the worlds current religions fall into obscurity and are looked upon as nothing more than myths, the same as has happened with the older religions of Egypt, Greece and many others. Continued education of the Universe will help reveal the fallacies of archaic religions and the world will be better for it.
Oh, no, trust me when I say that I fear them coming to cut off my head. They've done it to many people throughout history. Just look at the Crusades, the Witch Trials, etc. You're absolutely right, they are coming, and I'm extremely joyous that I realized just how sadistic they are in their actions against those who are different. Funny, we have laws that are meant to protect 'those who are different', which is intended not only to cover race and sex, but also religious preference. I shall hope that when 'they' come for me, the 'good Christian Police' will see fit to enforce our nations' laws and to protect me from the 'good Christians, Muslims, etc.'.
Now, that's an interesting thought. If angels only do good, then would you care to explain to me why a third of Heaven's host left to follow Lucifer? Does your claim that only demons cause suffering support the theory that those third are still righteous and not actually evil, since angels must not be evil, and therefore Lucifer himself must still remain a servant of God?
Remember, you're talking about a culture that literally had the Christianity beaten into them. They were given the option of choosing Christianity or choosing to be beaten and possibly killed. Though, as you see Catholicism to be evil, it's no wonder that you see Voodoo as evil, since the two are so closely related that only an outsider would not understand just how similar they are. Outsiders have a tendency to learn everything they know about Voodoo from television and movies, which portray it in a very poor light. In Haiti's case, you're looking at a society which was built from poor slaves who had revolted against their masters and taken control of an island, and had to kill more than 50,000 French soldiers who attempted to recapture them and the island, and lost up to 100,000 blacks. All of this, only to fight off yet more attempts to retake them, political disputes, political coups, and a military occupation by the United States. This paved the way for Papa Doc to later take control of the nation. And, though he may have claimed the title of Houngan in an effort to consolidate his power, he was most likely a Bokor.

The angels that fell with Lucifer are not angels anymore...they were changed as he was changed, and they are the demons now. That one at least I can answer. Ben, I don't have all the answers, but I have a Codex to follow, so at least I'm not flailing away in the dark. You must understand that I have had all the same thoughts you have...I am an intelligent person, and you know what my situation has been...has any man since Job had more reason to feel abandoned and betrayed by God? Sure, I've had my doubts, but I still trust God. "There is a way that seemeth right to man, but that way leadeth unto death." I see things moving towards Meggido, and from my reading of Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel, I'd say they're right on schedule. God Bless You. ~Jim
