The oldest gun i've got actually is a family gun, it belonged to my great-grandfather, who was a lieutenant in the Confederate army. It is a 12 gauge double-barrel shotgun. i have three pump shotguns, two bolt action, clip-fed shotguns, and one lever action shotgun, a Winchester 1877 model, original, and still in good working order. For close defense, or home defense, a shotgun has no equal. i also have an old single-shot. All my shotguns are 12 gauge.

I like 12 gauge, but my favorite is my single shot .410, even though it costs quite a bit more for the ammo than for the 12 gauge, it's handy to have around.
