This is my way...as ya'll know, I've made a few.... I find it significant that almost everyone for whom I have chosen to "gift" with a robe is still active in the Jedi community to some extent. -GaZoo

You know, I've been trying to figure out how you made that. Now that I see the picture, it's almost too obvious when actually looking at the robe!
My method's a bit different. Basically, it's like making a tunic. When I get a new modem for my computer (lightning struck), I'll see if I can get a drawing up of it. To try and put it into words, I measure wrist to wrist and twice shin to chin, just like you do (ankle to chin for a longer robe). However, when you cut off the whole front, I cut off the front and back, under the sleeves and along the side, leaving some extra width for the chest. I sew the upside-down "L" on each side. Then, I cut straight down the middle and fold under to create a clean seam. This takes away a little in the front if ample width wasn't left for the chest. Then, from one of the pieces that was leftover from under the arm, I do the hood pretty much identical to yours.
